About Telecoms & Internet deals
Before you sign, work out the total cost of the whole contract, not just the monthly fee. Check the contract length; whether the discounted fee lasts only for the first few months, and what you pay after that; the admin fee and other one-off charges; the early termination charge; whether speeds drop once you use up your data under a fair usage policy; network coverage, and for broadband whether your building is connected; and the conditions and timing for keeping your number. Compare any bundled phone's price with the shop price too.
We recheck plan offers with no stated end date at least every seven days, and take them down if we can't confirm them. Each telecoms offer links to its official source with the time we last verified it, and lists the dates, who qualifies and the conditions. Details the source doesn't give are marked as not stated, never estimated. Ended offers are removed.
Travel SIM or roaming data pack: how do I choose?
A travel SIM is often cheaper, but you swap the SIM or install an eSIM, and you may miss texts to your Hong Kong number. A roaming pack keeps your number and is simpler. Compare the countries covered, the data allowance, the number of days, and whether speeds drop after the allowance is used up.
How do I decide whether to switch before my contract ends?
Check how many months are left and the early termination charge, then compare them with what the new plan saves. Sometimes waiting until the contract ends works out cheaper.
