About Local Events deals
Before you go, check the date, time and venue; whether a free event needs advance registration or a free ticket, as popular sessions can fill up quickly; any age limits and who the event suits; the language of a performance or talk; the bad-weather arrangements for outdoor events; any ticketing handling fee; and whether the organiser has changed or cancelled anything.
We mark free events "Free admission" and link each one to the organiser's official page with the time we last verified it. When a programme runs on several dates or at several venues, we list every session on one page, so you can pick the time and place that suit you. Qualifying events can also make the daily Top 3, with at most one per event series. Events come off the list once they end; always confirm the latest arrangements with the organiser before you set off.
Why do free events still need registration?
Organisers may need to limit numbers, and registering secures your place. Some free tickets are handed out at the venue on the day until they run out. Check how to attend on the event page.
Can bad weather cancel an event, and how will I know?
Outdoor events may be postponed or cancelled when a typhoon signal or rainstorm warning is issued. Check the organiser's website or announcements before you set off, and follow their latest notice.
